The Kennedys are an American folk-rock band, consisting of husband and wife Pete and Maura Kennedy. They are recognized for their harmonies and instrumental prowess, blending elements of country music, bluegrass, Western swing and janglepop. They met in Austin, Texas in 1992, when Pete Kennedy was playing in Nanci Griffith's band. For their first date, they each drove 500 miles to meet at Buddy Holly's grave in Lubbock, Texas! Their career now spans more than two decades of songwriting, storytelling, recording, producing, and touring.
We're delighted to connect with them again on their musical journey. Open to all. Registration is required.

Hello fello Music Fans
We drove from Savannah GA to see the Kennedys in person for the first time
We went with daughters family, and brothers family to a small venue-Live at Teds
Maura and Pete Kennedy were beyond all expextaions.
Pete is the most amazing guitarist/ musician I have ever witnessed in person.
Maura, song writer, guitar player/singer is better in person than even her videos.
Their original music is exceptional. The cover songs wonderfully done!
After a susbstanial career- their newest music album is one of their best.
We will travel to see them again whenever reasonable.

In a career that now spans two decades, New York duo Maura and Pete Kennedy have traversed a broad musical landscape, surveying power pop, acoustic songwriting, organic rock rooted in their early days in Austin, and a Byrds-inspired jangle that drew the attention of McGuinn, Steve Earle, and most notably Nanci Griffith. The duo co-produced Nanci’s latest CD, and are currently touring the US and the British Isles with the Texas songstress.
