About this concert
Outhouse is returning to Melbourne Music Week to close The Curtin on the 2020/21 edition. Bringing together some of our favourite artists to come out of Melbourne in CS + Kreme, Jonnine, and Third Space. The warped and introspective mountain magic of both Conrad Standish and Sam Karmel, both of whom have their own coloured musical careers, finally joins Outhouse as our headliners. Alongside is Jonnine, the front-woman of the lauded HTRK, who will be performing her debut live set after her moody and cavernous solo records ‘Super Natural’ and ‘Blue Hills’. On support is Third Space, one of Melbourne’s rising talents. Syncopated drum rhythms, nauseating time signatures, and back-of-your-throat drones – always a rush from start to finish.

Third-Space Biography

Characterized by their musical chemistry, riveting showmanship, and intense energy, Third-Space continues to write and perform raw, honest tunes from the heart. Formed in April 2015 and residing in Honolulu, Hawaii, Third-Space had its first official jam in a dorm studio at the University of Washington. The trio is comprised of Matt Ito (guitar/vox), Rylen Nakama (bass/backing vox), and Chase Perry (drums). While Third-Space gigs regularly around Honolulu's live music scene, some of the band's highlighted performances include The Waikiki Shell and Schofield Barracks 4th Of July Celebration. Members of Third-Space have also shared the stage with prominent local and national artists including Gerardo Velez (Jimi Hendrix, Spyro Gyra, Nile Rodgers), Jake Shimabukuro, and Honolulu pop/rock artist Erin Smith. Collectively, the band cite influences across a wide range of sonic territory--much like the diversity of the islands they call home. Third-Space is currently recording for their debut EP. Don't forget the hyphen.
