Dan Bettridge Biography
While a traditional singer-songwriter at heart, echoing influences of Americana, Soul, Rock and Folk, Dan Bettridge’s output defies rigid classification. With intimate poetry and a confident production style, Bettridge is carving a distinctive path alongside indie-folk peers Ben Howard, Bon Iver and Foy Vance. He is fast becoming an artist that others wish to collaborate with.
Born and raised in a small seaside-town in Wales, Bettridge has garnered critical acclaim with a steady flow of independent releases, each crafted in his rural cabin-studio. He has toured with Band Of Horses, Jack Savoretti, performed at the famous Maida Vale Studios twice (once as Whispering Bob Harris’ ‘Favourite New Artist’) and played festivals throughout the UK, USA and Canada (including SXSW). In 2020, he contributed to Bob Harris’s ‘All Stars’ alongside Mark Knopfler, Rosanne Cash and Darius Rucker, premiering in Rolling Stone.
Following the success of his debut LP ‘Asking For Trouble’, Bettridge was awarded PRSF’s prestigious Momentum fund (2019). The resulting ‘Good People. Bad Habits.’, released in 2021, received further acclaim and strong support from Apple, TIDAL and BBC radio.
As Acoustic Magazine’s ‘Next Big Thing’, Dan’s live show is not to miss.
