Iván Solomonoff Biography
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, son of the distinguished opera singer Mario Solomonoff, Iván starts his musical studies at the age of 4. With 8 years old he's allowed to take the exam for the National Conservatory, entering with perfect mark in both piano and music theory exams.
As a child, Iván also acted at the prestigious Colon Theatre of Buenos Aires as helper kid for the operas: Hermione, Samson et Dalila, Turandot and Tosca.
He will later study at the Buenos Aires Conservatory, following with private lessons with Inés Gómez Carrillo.
During youth, Iván starts playing keyboards for local rock and metal bands for which quickly adds his own compositions and develops rock keyboard-playing skills, influenced by artists like Keith Emerson, Kevin Moore, Jordan Rudess and Rick van der Linden.
In 2007, Iván moves to New York City for work reasons. He wins the first prize at the Google NY Talent Show where performed a piano improvisation.
After a 2 year's stay in New York, Iván goes back for a short time to Argentina, performing mainly as a keyboardist in Arabian rock fusion music.
In 2010 he moves to Barcelona, Spain, where he resides up to date.
Iván graduated in piano at the Music Conservatory of Barcelona, obtaining the first prize in Music Composition.
