Korine, new wave/electronic duo from Philadelphia, is touring the States in support of their new release. Local support Jane Machine and Firebug. KORINE - modern new wave (Philadelphia) Korine is a Philadelphia based duo by members Morgy Ramone and Trey Frye. The pair blends new wave nostalgia with a modern pop sensibility, contrasting upbeat rhythms against sullen and emotionally evocative lyrics. Songwriter/producer Erica von Trapp carves out a new landscape from her Joshua Tree studio, transporting us to equal parts synth-dreamland as minimalist goth-desert-soundtrack. The result is a haunting pop noir, with even the more “electro-pop” tracks having some form of detuned modulation surrounding their minor chords, somber lyrics, and head-nodding electronic percussion. Lyrically, Jane Machine does not shy away from notions of desire, gloom, and existentialism. Drawing electronic inspiration from her years spent in Paris, where she started producing music, hip hop rhythm from her childhood growing up in the California Bay Area, and other-worldy textures from her current homestead in Joshua Tree, Jane Machine lies somewhere between Scandinavian electro pop, trip hop, and witchcraft. -- FIREBUG Spectra Records recording artist FireBug have captivated audiences at music venues and festivals across the globe. Their latest single 'Sinner' was recently featured on New Orlean's modern rock station 106.1 FM The Underground. In Los Angeles, FireBug has hosted the Firelight Music Festival in Silverlake multiple times and have showcased their best material at The Viper Room in West Hollywood and The Echo in Echo Park. In London, England they received critical acclaim for their performances at famous venues such as Dublin Castle, Half Moon, Barfly, and their performance at the 80,000 + Sonisphere Festival Knebworth. The band recently re-located to Joshua Tree CA as they continue to grow their global following and are very excited to release their highly anticipated album on Spectra Records. They plan on touring extensively during 2019.
