About this concert
After the success of CoVibes 1, 2, 3 & 4 we are excited to announce CoVibes 5!Pairing stellar local talents AYLA and Sycco, and with support from stunning emerging artist Colie, we give you the line up for CoVibes 5.CoVibes is all about bringing the live music back in intimate, seated event held in our beautiful Brewery room in a Covid-safe environment. In the world of modern music AYLA is a refreshing force. At once humble and unassuming, yet as an artist, daringly bold. Her brand of decadent pop, effortlessly combines otherworldly vocals with sharp-pop blows and multi-faceted production, all the while never underplaying deep lyrical sentiments. In 2014, at just 18-years of age, Ayla released her debut single ‘Wish I Was’, which immediately gained attention with Australian radio. By the end of the year this debut single came in #15 on triple j’s most played songs of the year and #1 by a solo female artist. The track also gained traction on European radio, resulting in a distribution deal with EGO Records in Italy (Emma Louise, The Jezabels) and a place on a remix EP, which has a total of 2 million listens on YouTube alone.Wish I Was’ then featured on Ayla’s debut EP, with two further singles, ‘Waiting’ and ‘When the World Ends’, also gaining high rotation play on triple j radio. A coveted ‘Like A Version’ session with the station later that year cemented Ayla’s place on the stage of the Australian Music Scene. Ayla has since performed at festivals including Big Pineapple, Festival of the Sun and Woodford Folk Festivals, as well as supported acclaimed acts including Kate Miller-Heidke, San Cisco, Kim Churchill, Asta and toured the country with her own headline shows. In 2020 she returns with an arson of collaborations, ready to unleash at will. The collection of tracks have taken shape over the last few years that now naturally make sense in this new world of AYLA. 18-year-old Brisbane songwriter and producer Sasha McLeod is SYCCO. Equally at home in the studio and on the stage, Sycco demands attention for her soulful voice, observant lyrics, psychedelic jazz aura and undeniable charisma.  Following a buzzy set at this year’s Bigsound, Sycco was added to the line-ups of the 2020 Laneway Festival and Groovin The Moo (confidential) and asked to support the likes of Spacey Jane and Vera Blue.Sycco released her third single, Peacemaker, to widespread acclaim in her home country.  She was made triple j unearthed's feature artist of the week and the track was added to full rotation on triple j as well as Spotify's New Music Friday, Front Left and Indie Arrivals playlists as well as several key Apple playlists.  Colie is a project from North Queensland Singer-Songwriter, Nicole Cross. Sincere songwriting drawn from personal experiences and embracing vulnerability has always come naturally to Colie. Colie is a storyteller at heart, creating crisp clear poetry in music-motion filling the hearts of her listeners with warm assurance. From Julia Jacklin and Gretta Ray to Johnny Cash and The Police, Colie’s sound has been in?uenced by an interesting mix of genres. Colie is proud of her folk roots, and her sound has recently been described by Dave Ruby Howe from Triple J Unearthed as a fully realised folk tinged indie sound with an intimate feel.  February 2019 saw Colie release her debut single ‘Sunday News’ through Triple J Unearthed. Shortly after its release, ‘Sunday News’ was premiered on Triple J’s Home & Hosed segment with guest host Alex Lahey, and was a featured entry in the 2020 Queensland Music Awards. Colie released her debut EP ‘Bug On A Lamplight’ in May 2019 alongside a music video for ‘Sunday News’. Colie has supported the likes of Lime Cordiale and Greta Stanley and played extensively throughout North Queensland, including at self made Neck Of The Woods Music Festival and Woodfordia’s Festival of Small Halls.   2020 so far, despite unprecedented times, has seen Colie release a further two singles and her sophomore EP ‘Second Hand’. Shortly following the release of her second EP, Colie was announced as a Triple J Unearthed Level Up Grant winner, allowing her to level up her career with funds going towards her next single ‘Table for Two’, set for release alongside a music video in mid November 2020.  To comply with Covid-safe practices, this is a SEATED event and tickets are strictly limited. Ayla Biography

Seminal German Trance music producer Ingo Kunzi recorded under numerous aliases including Tandu, Intrance and and Karuma, but is perhaps best known for his classic 1996 track 'Ayla', recorded under the same name. Kunzi started his music journey when he was just five years old, building his own studio in 1985 and engineering demos for rock bands before discovering electronic music.

Ingo's Ayla project was founded in 1995. When the debut single ‘Ayla’ was released it became an instant hit in his native country. It's worldwide success a few years later was due in part to the euphoric Taucher remix by compatriots, DJ Ralph-Armand Beck (Taucher) and producer Torsten Stenzel (York). It remains Kunzi's biggest chart success to date. The track was used in a McDonald's commercial, and appeared on the soundtrack of the British comedy film Kevin & Perry Go Large. In addition supported by Tiësto on his early trance music compilations.

Ayla's second release was the single 'Atlantis'. Four further singles followed: Ayla (Part. II), a collaboration with Beck and Stenzel; 'Liebe' (Love), a cover of the Cosmic Baby classic; Kunzi's self-confessed all-time-favorite Ayla track, 'Angelfalls' and 'Into The Light'. These tracks, 'Atlantis' excepted, were collected on the successful debut album, 'Atlantis', released in 1999. The harder singles 'Singularity (Brainchild II)' and 'Sun Is Coming Out' followed the LP.

2023 saw Ayla collaborate with A-list artists Ava Max and ALOK on the single 'Car Keys (Ayla)'.
