Julie Williams Biography

CMT Next Women of Country Julie Williams is turning heads in Nashville’s country music scene with songs that tell the stories she wished to hear as a mixed race child. A member of the Black Opry Revue and a host of The Song Suffragettes, Julie was named in Rissi Palmer’s Color Me Country Class of 2021, featured on Wide Open Country’s list of “10 Country Acts Poised for a Breakout Year in 2023,” and her single Southern Curls was covered by Billboard, CMT, PBS NewsHour, and numerous music publications. Having opened for acts such as Will Hoge and Mt. Joy, Julie tours with the Black Opry Revue, a showcase of Black artists in country, blues, folk, and Americana music. Julie has taken the stage with the group at CMA Fest, AmericanaFest, Cayamo, High Water Fest. She followed her Black Opry debut with her first solo tour that brought Julie and her songs across the country and globe - with performances in London, Nashville, and across the states. Covered by American Songwriter, Bluegrass Situation, and The Tennessean, Julie released her self-titled EP on June 2nd and can be found at Newport Folk Fest, AmericanaFest, and on a coast-to-coast tour this summer.
