Emma Charles Biography
Emma Charles is an up-and-coming folk/pop singer songwriter with modern influences who crafts stories about what it’s like growing up during this time. She is honestly relatable, listenable and memorable. With a knack for catchy melodies and sing-able choruses, her songs transcend genre through clear folk influences merged with a modern electronic soundscape. Charles is a gifted songwriter, storyteller and performer who is able to capture the sounds and nostalgia from the folk revival and present it in a modern and listenable way.
Emma is graduating from Berklee College of Music in the Spring of 2019 with a BM in Professional Music. She has studied predominantly under Grammy award-winning songwriter Paula Cole, and has sung backup for Cole at her performance at The City Winery in NY, NY. Emma has also been awarded a scholarship from the Voice Department at Berklee, which shows that the prestigious school has acknowledged her talent and sees in her a promising future. She has been featured in The Huffington post twice, as well as predominant blogs such as PopDose, Groundsounds and Coming Up Mag.
Emma is currently working with in-demand Brooklyn based producer on the rise, Doug Schadt (Maggie Rogers, SHAED, Ashe). Emma released two songs with Schadt in 2018, and is working on creating a full-length EP to be released later in 2019.
