Otieno Terry

Otieno Terry is a Seattle-based artist and producer whose music will take you on a journey with eclectic and passionate style. Since taking first place at MoPop’s Sound Off! battle of the bands in 2014, Terry has graced stages including Sasquatch! and Bumbershoot, toured the country with PNW rapper Sol, and was featured on Macklemore’s new album, Gemini, singing the chorus of “Levitate.”

Influenced by a range of creative individuals from Outkast to Hayao Miyazaki, Otieno blends hip-hop, alternative, and pop into a unique, groove-heavy sound. This is combined with his background in storytelling and spoken word to create performances that weave from hard-hitting bangers to powerful vocal-led ballads. Terry’s charismatic lyricism and arrangements make for fully fledged experiences both on record and in concert.

As put by popular music blog HillyDilly, "His sound is led by [a] hypnotic vocal, but where his music goes above and beyond is with his songwriting...It's dynamic in a way rarely heard." Otieno is releasing his debut solo album, “The Woods,” on October 31st, 2017.
