Philipp G Biography
I am a freelance drummer working out of the UK.
Originally from Austria, I began hitting the pots and pans in my parents bakery from very early on and after a couple of years studying piano, I eventually acquired my first set of drums at the age of 8. I started playing my first gigs at 15 and soon after was booked on professional level.
In the following years I was member of countless bands, working alongside successful Austrian acts like multi-platinum selling band Die Seer before moving to Vienna to study at the Vienna Jazz Conservatory.
During my time in Vienna I played drums alsongside Tower Of Power's legendary frontman Hubert Tubbs, 2002 latin grammy nominee Celeste Carballo and toured Europe working as drumtech for Terry Bozzio. In 2003 I felt the urge to experience a new scene and a brief spell of touring the UK triggered a move to London in 2004.
I have since enjoyed a versatile and busy schedule both live and in the studio and have gained a wealth of experience from amazing songwriters, producers, film composers to touring with established acts and studio sessions with some top names in the industry.
