Born in Chicago, IL drummer, composer, producer and educator Justin Boyd developed an interest in music at a young age. In 2013 he founded STEREO GENIUS an alternative-jazz, r&b and hip-hop instrumental ensemble that focuses on original compositions and arrangements. He's a member of multiple Chicago based ensembles including Animate Objects, Chicago Afrobeat Project, Russoul, Treologic, Ugochi & A.S.E. and Peven Everett. He has also worked with hip-hop luminaries like Common, Rakim, Ice Cube, Slum Village and Big Daddy Kane.
