Kelley Swindall Biography

“An engaging raconteur with a mischievous smile as well as a very fine singer” (Americana UK),  Georgia Born, Nashville/NYC based Americana Artist, Kelley Swindall, has toured the US and now the UK, for the better part of the decade w/ her brand of self-taught & styled southern folk blues.
Equally, at home in a biker bar or under a proscenium arch, she takes the stage solo, armed w/ her moxie and an acoustic guitar, singing about the stuff classic country is made of: heartache, heartbreak, redemption, revenge, life, death, and those pesky existential musings in between, all filtered through a sassily southern perspective, w/ equal parts humor and pathos.

Her debut studio album,  “You Can Call Me Darlin’ If You Want”, was released on NYC-based Velvet Elk Records in September of 2020, to glowing reviews, with American Songwriter declaring  “Swindall affirms her place with ‘You Can Call Me Darlin If You Want”. Country Music People (UK) gave the album 5 out 5 stars, and Americana UK urged  “Don’t let this masterpiece pass you by”. “Darlin’”  was then named to several US and UK publications end of the year “best of” lists, and enjoyed the #1 position on Europe’s Hot Disc Top 40 charts for 6 consecutive weeks, as audiences took a shine to the strong and vulnerable female character that grace the songs.

She has since toured the UK extensively, sharing the stage and supporting artists such as Billy Bragg, Jim Jones Revue, The Urban Voodoo Machine, Robert Vincent, fellow New Yorker Jesse Malin, and gracing the stages of various Festivals including Glastonbury and Kendal Calling.
