About this concert
The Communicators - From Zummerzet/Brizzle, it's marvelous to welcome back these fellows, reformed, refreshed, revitalized, and really bloody great. What a wicked ska band, a kick ass Brit rudeboy extravaganza a la The Specials, Madness, Bad Manners, The Selecter via some frothy old school J.A nuances and peerless musicianship. Communication is the key and these chaps will deffo get the message across that it's time to get the party started and keep it going all night long. Might as well book yer brogues into the cobblers for Monday mornin coz they're gonna get some serious dancefloor friction.

The Communicators Biography
Its 25 years since Britpop, and 40 years since Two Tone and the last real music scene that meant more than great music! It was a lifestyle, a way of life and an attitude that hasn’t been replicated since!
However, if Suggs was to bump into Ian Dury, Damon Albarn, Ray Davies & the Gallagher Brothers and embark on a dance craze through Punk, Ska, Two Tone and Brit pop you'd have The Communicators!
The Comms (as they were dubbed by this ever-growing faithful following) borrow shamelessly from artists like Madness, The Kinks, Small Faces, The Specials, Blur and The Blockheads without losing their own identity.
The blend of harmonious, brass drenched SKA tunes is a mix of Madness and Blur esc popism with cleverly crafted lyrics that Mr Ian Dury himself would be happy to have penned. However, this is merely a wink at the past, and very much a cheeky grin into the future!
Rather than hide from their influences, The Communicators irreverently revel in them, even dropping song titles and band references in their tunes!
The sound is vibrant, jumping and a little bit cock sure of itself and yet Mitch’s lyrics add to the feel of better times ahead!
It’s unmistakably British yet accessible to the US, playful, obvious where it needs to be yet unafraid of going into unexpected places when the mood takes em!
