Emme is the duo of Sowmya Somanath and Walter Nichols, formed in 2016 after years of bonding and binging on pizza and Spongebob episodes. The two swiftly realized their unique, complementary dynamic, Somanath having been trained in melodic Indian vocals and Nichols in western classical composition, and couldn’t help but explore this synthesis in the context of songwriting.
