Sha'Meire Jackson, known professionally as $wank, is a talented wordsmith repping North Carolina's 252. Born in a small town with little resources, $wank found himself interested in music at an early age, but it wasn't until middle school that $wank's knack for writing married his love of hip-hop. By day, he excelled in school -- making straight A's, drum major of the band and pitcher of the baseball team -- but at night, he honed his craft. The day of high school graduation, $wank came home to a studio microphone as a gift from his mom. That fall, $wank left Littleton to attend college at North Carolina Central University and recorded his first album, L.A, in his dorm room in Chidley. Since then, $wank has amassed a loyal following in Durham, North Carolina which has noticeably expanded with each project.
