Forever Son Biography
Forever Son is the project of singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jack Robbins. Drawing inspiration from Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Daniel Rossen and Fleet Foxes, Forever Son’s sound is raw and free flowing with a splash of reverb. Tracks imbue dreamy, sun-soaked mornings without the restraint of calculated thought.
Growing up in Anglesea on Victoria's Surf Coast, Forever Son first picked up a guitar at age thirteen and started playing in bands not long after. Moving to Melbourne in 2013, Forever Son released a 7” split single that year with hometown friend, Fraser A. Gorman. The self-produced debut EP, Trout Fishing, followed in October 2014.
After the release of single, ‘Rambling Knots’ in October 2015, Forever Son headed back into the studio to write and record his first long-play, 10 Months. Following on from the release of singles, ‘San Jose’ in late 2016 and ‘Crumb Kitchen’ in early 2017, 10 Months was released to critical acclaim in May 2017, with singles featuring on Double J’s ‘Tower of Song’ and Triple J’s ‘Roots N All’. Tracks from the album have also received airplay on community radio stations nationally, including Triple R, PBS, FBi, SYN and Radio Adelaide.
After launching the album to a packed room at Melbourne’s Old Bar, Forever Son played a string of dates nationally with a three-piece band, backing up previous performances at Kennedy’s Creek Music Festival, Anglesea Music Festival, Bendigo Blues and Roots Festival, and By The Meadow.
