Casii Stephan Biography

Casii Stephan is a MN born, Tulsa-based soulful singer-songwriter. Stephan has been compared to Florence Welch, Fiona Apple, and Carole King, as her vocal timbre possesses a full and warm quality. Her music combines her love for the storytelling elements of Disney ballads and the bold, brilliance of The White Stripes, as well as the soul-wrenching R&B melodies of H.E.R. Her songs have received awards and nominations from the Independent Music Awards, Hollywood Music and Media Awards, and USA Songwriting Competition. She has performed multiple official SXSW Showcases. Casii Stephan, with her full band, “The Midnight Sun” received recognition for their 2019 SXSW performance from American Songwriter as a “knock out set of blues-funk soul” and At Large Magazine raves about her “dynamically talented” band that “augments yet never overwhelms her vocals” and “play off of each other like a band that’s been together for years not just a year”. Casii Stephan’s newest single, “Trapeze Artist”, inspired by the highs and lows of humanity encountered on social media, premiered on Billboard on Feb 5th. Billboard describes the song as “dynamic…, starting like an acoustic ballad…and building to an anthemic, chorale-style finish”. Casii Stephan and The Midnight Sun will be performing official showcases at SXSW in March and she plans to release an EP before the end of the year.
