JFDR est le dernier projet en date de Jófríður Ákadóttir, musicienne islandaise hyperactive qu'on a pu découvrir dans des projets comme Samaris, Gangly ou Pascal Pinon. Son univers à la mélancolie quasi constante met en exergue une voix empreinte de fragilité. Artiste au charme unique, JFDR perpétue une certaine tradition islandaise, sa musique évoquant en toile de fond les paysages magiques de là-bas. Mélangeant les sonorités classiques à des sons electro expérimentaux, la multi-instrumentiste évoque aussi bien Björk que Bat For Lashes. Après avoir conquis le public avec Brazil, son premier album sorti en 2017, JFDR est de retour au printemps avec New Dreams. Le voyage continue..

JFDR Biography
JFDR, the latest project from Iceland's Jófríður Ákadóttir (Samaris, Pascal Pinon, Gangly), is a blend of cyclical guitar parts, soft minimal soundscapes, and poetic wonderings of a journey that ends where it began. Drawing from classical, folk, and electronic backgrounds, JFDR amalgamates the sounds of changing seasons, her voice a current that moves from rough seas to smooth waters. But perhaps JFDR shines the most in her capacity as a wordsmith, employing rich imagery to evoke the subtle emotions embedded in each song. Her first full length album, co-produced with legendary multi-instrumentalist Shahzad Ismaily, was released in March 2017.
