Tim James

A native of the small southern city Jeanerette, Louisiana, Tim James delivers soulful vocals coupled with heartfelt lyrics. Since his earliest memories Tim James remembers listening to all types of music at home, and even began to play the trumpet throughout elementary and middle school. At the age of 12, being surrounded by a culture filled with mixtapes constantly flowing out of Houston, Tim James began freestyling with friends whenever he could, especially at school. Over the next several years of his life Tim James, then under the moniker MacBelly, would begin writing lyrics, developing his craft, and releasing mixtapes, both on his own and with collaborative efforts. Soon it was off to college where James was able to have life changing experiences. The music was turned off for a while but that was only temporary. When asked about music James aptly replies, “It called me right back.” Back with the stories and lessons being learned in this on-going season, Tim James has hopes of reaching people through his music and sparking a change in culture. With soulful vocals paired with heartfelt lyrics, there is no doubt that listeners will enjoy the music released by Tim James. Tim James is currently living in the Greater Baton Rouge area and recently created Good Steward Music, a recording label in which individuals can release art without losing creative control nor neglecting spiritual convictions. The future is bright, his passions now have eloquent purpose, and Tim James will undoubtedly make a mark on this world.
