“Out of Blue is a soft-hearted, introspective look at enveloping love that is uncontrollably honest and surreal.”
– No Depression, Journal of Roots Music
Daniel Steinbock was born and raised on the California coast north of the Golden Gate, the only child of a sailor and a librarian. A singer-songwriter in the sublime lyrical tradition of Sam Beam (Iron & Wine) and Neil Young, pre-apocalyptic love songs and spare folk poems fill his song book with a rare spiritual nakedness. He conjures plights and ecstasies of soul and body that might have come from the pen of Walt Whitman, had Whitman left New York and wandered the American landscape through tent revival spirituals and Delta freedom songs to grow quiet and haikuist at the feet of giant California Redwoods.
Steinbock has self-released two EPs, Sea Inside and The Blade. His debut studio album, Out of Blue, recorded primarily in the Pacific Northwest, presents the songwriter’s craft in full spectrum, painting with colors of rock n’ roll, jazz, gospel-soul, country, and blues, with features by fellow troubadours John Craigie, Ayla Nereo, and Rainbow Girls.

++ MIKAYLA MCVEY ++
Mikayla McVey writes acid cowgirl music from the beating, blistered, blissed out heart of the West. Born in Virginia and raised up in the holy golden Northern California hills, McVey has made homes in rural South America, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and the 35ft cavern of a 1986 International School bus named Splendor. Music is always home and probably her best hope for giving beauty back to the world.
Holy Golden is Mikayla's debut studio release and a collaboration with friend and fellow space traveler James Wallace (SKYWAY MAN). While the record takes its name from the holy golden lonely mess of her home state, the songs on this little 10-inch criss cross our big/broken/beautiful nation from New York and New Orleans to Mono Lake and Lake Michigan. Recorded to tape in West Oakland and West Nashville, it aims to bring you in very close... and send you all the way out on a beam of light or a strong wind.
