Jonathan Ramsey Music Biography
JONATHAN RAMSEY'S "WELLIE RACES, THE SEA..." EP CROSSES TRADITIONAL IRISH AND HIS OWN WRY SONGS OF LIFE
Guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and his trademark stomp-box feature brightly on Jonathan's latest EP, with a twisted look into the dreams --and one nightmare- of unintentional sailors, scoundrels, well intentioned pedestrians, and Jonathan's fellow Irish musicians.
SAINT LOUIS, MO -- Irish music is well-known for its percussive, dance-friendly rhythms, its haunting melodies, and its songs of hope, hard times, betrayal, drink, lovers, and friends. Jonathan Ramsey's new EP "Wellie Races, The Sea, The Ditch, and Sundry Other Places Irish Music Ought Not Go" leads the way through such stories, and, in true Irish spirit, goes to all these places anyway.
According to Jonathan, "I love a story song", and his recordings and shows are ample evidence. "Wellie Races” is available at http://jonathanramsey.com, as well as Apple Music, iTunes, http://jonathanramsey.bandcamp.com, at Jonathan Ramsey shows, and elsewhere online.
