Rosa Jean

Rosa Jean is an American singer, songwriter, and musician from Kingsford, MI. She is extremely proud to be a Flivver and Yooper. Her stage name was inspired by her maternal grandmother's childhood nickname for her and is also a nod to her actual name.

Ever since she started writing songs and teaching herself how to play guitar, both around the age of thirteen, Rosa has had music in her heart and on her mind. She also plays piano, oboe, clarinet, flute, banjo, and ukulele, and hopes to be able to share the songs she's been writing for the past six years with the world.

With a modernized folk-flavored take on the singer-songwriter genre, Rosa carves out her niche with her Stevie Nicks-esque low alto to mezzo-soprano vocals. She takes inspiration from all different genres of music, though she especially loves classic rock and 80's pop, and blends her musical prowess to give the listener something they’ve never heard before. Rosa tells her side of the story and she’s unapologetic about it all.

Though she currently studies music at college in De Pere, WI, Rosa is in the beginning stages of self-recording and producing her first EP, Unapologetic, and hopes to expand her reach across the midwest. Follow her to keep up with her latest gigs and updates on her music.
