About this concert
Propeller is the new music series from David Ward + Golden Future that unites the best in soul across North America for a night of back to back floor fillers.
Special guest: Makadi, MA.
Makadi is an R&B/Soul & Hip-Hop artist newly based in Vancouver, originally from Boston, MA who artfully blends his soulful vocals and compelling lyricism with elements of electronic, funk, and neo-soul.
No stranger to the stage and spotlight, Makadi was a finalist in the 2018 NPR Tiny Desk Contest for Boston Favorite for his song ‘Count Your Blessings’ and again in 2019 for his song ‘JS LVN LFE.’ In January 2019 he released his debut album titled ‘YLLW’ which showcased his electric versatility and authentic song-writing. ‘YLLW’ is the first album of a 6-part Color Spectrum Project that explores not only what music sounds like, but what color music FEELS like. His sophomore album ‘BLU’ releases in early 2020.

David Ward Music Biography
The voice Rising Artists proclaimed, "could move mountains." Vancouver's David Ward has spent the last 10 years steadily building an inventive and soulful body of work. His critical acclaim spans Clash magazine, "...a singular talent," Songwriting Magazine, "...a bravely ambitious and gifted songwriter..." and The Guardian, "Most likely to be assured of a golden future."
Having toured Canada, the UK and Europe, Ward is building a name for himself at a monthly residency at Seattle's soul, funk and jazz venue, Sea Monster Lounge.
His most recent album, LoZ is a dance floor spectacular. Stylish and sultry R&B blends with impeccable falsetto and gospel undertones. An artist ever-keen to challenge himself, he is back in the studio, working on a new album of expansive, orchestrated ballads about love and loss, as well as a project of shimmering freaky dance music. Ward rolls out new music in the spring.
