Lisa Nicole Biography

A true musical self-starter whose story-driven lyrics are fused with a modern country sound and a strong yet carefree stage presence, Lisa Nicole has earned warm admiration from fans and deep respect from industry peers alike who value her tireless work ethic and her fun-loving personality.
Hailing from the mountains and nature of small-town Castlegar, British Columbia, Lisa Nicole grew up hunting, fishing, camping and embracing country music. As her childhood was sprinkled with the sounds of Shania Twain, Martina McBride, and the Dixie Chicks, Lisa Nicole discovered her own love of singing at the age of 8. By 15, she was playing regular jam sessions at Kootenay-area bars, which required her to be escorted on and off stage due to her age. After high school, Lisa Nicole followed her ambitions to Selkirk College of Contemporary Music and Technology, completing a Songwriting and Performance diploma with a Major in Vocals.
In 2013, Lisa Nicole made a strong entrance into the Canadian country music industry with her debut EP, It Got Ugly and a showcase at the 2013 Canadian Country Music Awards. Industry recognition followed with 2014 BC Country Music Association Award nominations for the Ray McAuley Horizon Award and Music Video of the Year.
As Lisa Nicole’s momentum sent her to the Canadian mainstages of Sunfest, Rockin’ River Fest, The Calgary Stampede, and Sturgis North Music Fest, she capped off a banner year by winning the 2015 BCCMA/Music BC Artist Development Project, which included a Nashville songwriting trip and placement in Canada’s Music Incubator 10-week Artist Entrepreneur Program.
Lisa Nicole’s award manifested into the 2016 EP release of Come Find Me, produced by Tom McKillip and Carly McKillip, which led to a coast-to-coast Canadian tour, three radio single releases, two more BCCMA nominations, a once-in-a-lifetime impromptu on-stage performance with Keith Urban at a Nashville pop-up concert and back-to-back Canadian Music Week Showcases in 2017 and 2018.
Eager to immerse herself in the creative hub of Music City, Lisa embarked on extended songwriting adventure by moving to Nashville for the spring of 2018 – an experience that empowered her with fresh inspiration and new creative energy.
After performing as part of 2018 Canadian Country Music Week in Hamilton, she connected with CCMA award-winning producer Jeff Johnson to produce her first full-length album, 2021’s Where Wild Hearts Beat – defined by a sharp commercial edge while maintaining Lisa Nicole’s pristine country ways.
