Todd Dorn and The Sea Drifters Biography
I have been writing and performing songs professionally since 1991. We formed in 2007 with seasoned musicians of family and friends.
Biography
I am from San Antonio but have lived in Hawaii, Galveston, Port Aransas, Kerrville, and Fredericksburg and have been playing guitar and writing my own songs for 25 years. I have been performing them since 2001 when I was in a duet (Jay Springer). I had many musical influences growing up including Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Charlie Pride, Led Zeppelin, George Strait, Elvis Presley, Mammas and the Pappas, Willie Nelson and too many others to mention. I got my first guitar when I was 10 and played along to 55 KTSA radio and learned to play by ear. That was about the only time I liked playing covers; I've always loved writing songs and performing them. I have played at many differnt venues throughout Texas such as Texas Folklive Festival, South by Southwest in Austin, Sandfest in Port Aransas and others. I am about to finish my first CD at Radio Dog Recording Studios with Jerry Clayton. I don't have a set band that I play with yet but have been very lucky to find many different talented musicians to play the venues with me.

“The next morning (Saturday) we showed back up early at SandFest for damage control..”, “…our old friend Todd Dorn (San Antonio, TX) took the stage with his band, The Sea Drifters (Jay Springer on bass and brother, Jim Springer on drums.) Dorn has a laid back, island style of country going for him and he’s smoother than a frog’s hair. His songs just scream mango margaritas at the palapa bar. I could listen to Todd all day long.”
