About this concert
The Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI) celebrates Charlie Parker's centennial, presenting new arrangements and music from Bird's repertoire. This celebration will feature orchestrations by Bill Dobbins, professor of jazz at Eastman School of Music, featuring Danilo Pérez, BGJI artistic director; Joe Lovano, the Gary Burton Chair in Jazz Performance; Marco Pignataro, BGJI managing director; faculty member Patricia Pérez; BGJI students; and guest artists. The concert is produced by Danilo Pérez and Marco Pignataro.

Wenjun Wu Biography

Bassist and composer Wenjun Wu was born in China,
currently living in Boston, US. He is interested in various
strains of music including jazz, improvised music, hip-hop
and pop music.
As a composer, he wrote and recorded different genres
including Jazz and improvised music. He performed his
music internationally.
Wenjun formed his band Con-seer and released an EP
album. In 2019
formed trio with Kyle Quass and Rocky Martin, wrote and
performed improvised music with poets and live sample.
As an educator, he has taught extensively in different
private music school and online music lessons in China.
