Anna Hawkins

Known for her expressive vocals and moving interpretations New Zealand songstress Anna Hawkins crosses the great divides of classical, folk and popular music. No stranger to the Katikati Twilight Stage audiences can expect a varied night of song including a musical theatre interlude and a taste of her brand new show. Anna is excited to perform for the first time a taste of her new show ‘Songbirds’ which pays homage to the female singer-songwriters of the 60s and 70s who revolutionised folk music. Anna will perform songs from the likes of Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, Bobbie Gentry and more alongside traditional folk music that experienced a resurgence in the 60s folk music revival. Joined by her band Anna will also perform audience favourites and an interlude of ‘songs from the stage’ supported by guests from the local Tauranga musical theatre scene. Other special guests include the return of her sister ‘Lisa Grace Hawkins’ who wowed audiences with her spine-tingling voice.
