Violinda Lola Biography

Violinda is a solo instrumental violin project that consists of strong melodies that has been enhanced with various effects pedals to enhance her sound. Violinda's background consists of 20 years of violin. She started at age 6 while her older brother taught her suzuki method. She joined symphonic orchestra from jr.high school till college. She has been to world renown music camps as well as studied music composition as a major until she made music her minor. From performing in gypsy folk rock bands to country/americana bands, her diverse back ground in music has given her a leg up in inspiration on creating the antithesis of it. “My music sounds almost nothing like my previous bands that I have played in, but I can't say that it hasn't influenced me. Pushing the violin out of context and into arenas of music that you might have never found it to be in or have any business in to begin with is where I like to start my songs with.” Violinda was first created July of 2013 after a few weeks of experimenting with loop pedals and effects pedals. She quickly started to play at house shows and venues in the Austin and San Marcos area. Since her beginning to February of 2015 she has played over 70 shows, 9 festivals, and has done a Mid West tour January 2015 with the drummer from Bright Eyes Matt Focht and Andrew Bird's guitarist Jeremy Ylvisaker . Violinda's debut album “Dichotomy” was recorded and produced at Elmwood studios in Dallas Tx by 2015 Grammy winner John Congelton who has recorded St. Vincent's most recent album Digital Witness as well as Alex Bhore from This Will Destroy You. Her album and shows have caught the eye of The Austin Chronicle,Austin Live Review, and other news mediums. She is currently pushing the envelop in what is expected in live music venues across Texas. She has opened for George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic, Mother Falcon, Messages,Amy Lavere, Hikes, Holiday Mountain, Luke Redfield and other well known acts.
