Hydraform Biography

Formed in 2011 by guitarist Jay Streifer and drummer Tyler Toth under the name Eiron as a passion project between two creative musicians, Streifer’s jagged and twisting rhythms quickly found a match in Toth’s unpredictably fluid drumming. Soon after, the pair recruited vocalist Carter Pashko after being struck by an impromptu performance at a local dive, with bassist John Jarvinen joining ranks after the trio’s maiden voyage into live performance in November of 2013, solidifying the lineup that would come to be known as Hydraform.

In May of 2015, after a wildly successful Kickstarter fundraising campaign, the band raised the funds to record their debut full length, “Dark Adder”, working alongside producers Dan Barnhart and Benito Flores at The Arsenal Studios in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Hydraform toured heavily in support of Dark Adder upon its release in 2016, and gained a local reputation as one of Denver’s hardest working metal bands, paving the way for the recording of a self-titled EP alongside legendary West Coast producer and engineer Sylvia Massy (Tool, System of a Down, Johnny Cash) slated for release in mid-2020. Shortly after completion of the EP, Tyler stepped back from the project and the band was lucky enough to recruit Matt Gotlin-Sheehan shortly after.

In early 2020, Hydraform will embark on their largest tour to date, supporting thrash-metal heavyweights Overkill and Exhorder on a a sprawling winter tour spanning over three weeks and 17 dates.
