Briget Boyle Biography
Briget Boyle's songs are compelling reminders that healing and redemption are coming. With gritty, vulnerable lyrics, pristine vocals, and driving playing on her antique Gibson J45, Briget’s 90s rock-tinged songs center the truth-telling power of the human voice. Sincerity is magnetic and Briget's songs often inspire listeners to put pen to paper, clear their throats, and dust off their old guitars. What will happen when you listen?
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Briget got an early start in music singing backup for her mother Karen Tobin. As a teenager, she was ushered into the film and television world with her first professional experience working in Hollywood's film scoring studios alongside her legendary recording engineer father Tim Boyle. She served as his second engineer for Starship Troopers, Animaniacs, Money Talks and more. She picked up the guitar in her early teens and began writing songs right away. After high school she studied Music Performance and Composition at the College of Santa Fe in New Mexico. It was here that she discovered the rich traditional folk music of the Balkans and quickly became a student of the voice and of traditional singing styles. This study led her to many years of performing with Kitka Women’s Vocal Ensemble, Brass Menažeri Balkan Brass Band, and True Life Trio.
In 2014, she turned back toward her original music and recorded her first solo album, The Parts Interior. Her second solo album, The Next Line was released in late 2018. The record was hailed as a “fascinating and gripping listen” by Gabriel Aikins of Substream Magazine.
Briget is currently writing up a storm and preparing for a few new and very exciting projects. Join the email list to follow along on the adventure!
