About this concert
BRUCH’s music is powered by the fight for our planet and the state of socio-political affairs. Music speaks louder than words. She takes influence from artists such as Massive Attack, Alice Phoebe Lou, Florence Welch, and J-Hope. A proud ‘owner’ of her Asperger’s Syndrome, BRUCH’s music is unique and diverse, spanning the genres of folk, pop, and electronica, with a quirky twist thrown in. Her track, Ley Lines, was chosen from over 200 tracks by BBC Radio 6 Music’s Tom Robinson and his Fresh On The Net Team, and named Record of the Week by BBC Introducing Solent. BRUCH is a purveyor of curious, electronic sounds, multi-layered cello, and eclectic vocals. Described by her followers as having elements of Björk, Kate Bush, Suzanne Vega, and Goldfrapp, all wrapped into a tiny, artistic explosion, BRUCH is a purveyor of curious, electronic sounds, multi-layered cello and vocals, and eclectic melodies. A proud owner of her Asperger’s Syndrome, BRUCH is completely self-produced, and 98% of the sounds you hear in her music are created entirely by her. BRUCH’s music is like nothing else. BRUCH’s music is regularly snapped up by BBC Introducing for their Saturday night show, to great acclaim from both the host, Stephanie Nieuwenhuys, and the show’s audience, and she performed a two-song Live Lounge and interview for them in August. One of the live tracks, Tortoise Skin, was from her recently released EP, Autis, which takes listeners on a multi-faceted journey through her autistic creativity. During the five-song EP, the audience journeys from ambient, hypnotic moments into bass-driven, thunderous tribal drumming, all accentuated by her multi-layered cello sections. Her track, Ley Lines, was chosen from over 200 tracks by BBC Radio 6 Music’s Tom Robinson and his Fresh on the Net Team, and named Record of the Week by BBC Introducing Solent. Recent performances include Isle of Wight Festival, BBC Introducing Stage Winchestival, BBC Introducing Live from Winchester, BBC Introducing Live 2019 London, the Great Escape, Rhythmtree, Hastings Fat Tuesday, Kashmir Fringe, Lionfest, Spectra Aberdeen, plus Live Lounge sets and interviews for BBC Introducing (Radio Solent) and Eagle Radio (Surrey and Hampshire). She has supported Sudan Archives, Syd Arthur, ERiKA, Scouting For Girls & Lucy Spraggan. BRUCH’s ‘We Don’t Care About You’ is a narrative on today’s sociopolitical affairs, the climate crisis & lack of action on a corporate & governmental level. It is a protest against abuse of power & a cry for voices to be heard. BRUCH is a passionate advocate for individual responsibility and group impact in the fight against global warming and ecological breakdown, and at nineteen years old, has recently been awarded the 2019 RoundTable Global Youth Award for Environmental Innovation for her awareness work for the climate through her music, and her new initiative, ‘The Solution’ which aims to inform and encourage every one of us to take action, no matter how small, towards improving our planet and protecting it for future generations.

BRUCH Biography

Featured on BBC Radio 3, 4, 6 and BBC Introducing, UK based BRUCH's blend of cinematic electronica continues to fascinate audiences throughout the country.

“Captured immediately by BRUCH’s cavernous, enveloping and cleansing vocals (gently reminiscent of Aurora), I’m absolutely enchanted by the palpable atmosphere that she creates. As the textures and sheer aural impact develop and brilliantly original percussive layers are introduced, the song builds to a stunning and truly inspired climax.”
Will O'Brien - ISLAND RECORDS A&R

BRUCH's music is powered by the fight for our planet and the state of socio-political affairs. Sometimes, music can reach further than mere spoken words. If more awareness can be spread through word or music, greater understanding can fuel the movement to protect our earth. BRUCH’s latest single, We Don’t Care About You, challenges the lack of action on a corporate and governmental scale in response to the climate crisis and rapid ecological breakdown.

Her music has been featured on BBC Introducing and Radio 6.

Following her first four 4 singles, BRUCH'S long-awaited debut EP, Autis, was released December 8th, 2018 on all major platforms, with three tracks from the EP - Before Our Time, Crown. (Autis Edit) and Tortoise Skin - premiered on BBC Introducing Solent in the run-up to the release, to great praise from both the hosts and listeners alike, and BRUCH was recently invited to perform the tracks in the live lounge.
