Uptown 23rd District Association will be debuting artistic holiday lights along N.W. 23rd St. from Harvey Ave. to Lee Ave. Funded by Inasmuch Foundation and additional community partners, LED lights will be creatively draped on buildings beginning November 30, 2019 through January 2020.
To celebrate this new endeavor, Uptown23rd is throwing a Holiday Lights Block Party on Thursday, Dec. 12 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sponsored by OKC Community Church and Tower Theatre OKC, the Block Party will include free photos with Santa, live music, Junction Coffee OKC, childrens’ crafts, and pop-up retail from Commonplace Books, TRADE Men's Wares, OKcollective Candle Co., The Art Hall and Cargo Room. The Block Party will take place inside and outside of OKC Community Church and Tower Theatre, located at 421 N.W. 23rd St. and 425 N.W. 23rd St.

Casey and Minna Biography
Since 2011 Oklahoma City mom-and-pop duo, Casey & Minna, have delivered a happy folk & fiddle style with strong rhythms and pretty melodies. Folk tunes from around the world are woven together in surprising arrangements on fiddle and acoustic guitar. The main mix includes Celtic, Cajun, Polkas, Cowboy, Holiday, Oldies,and Original music, along with contemporary pop tunes. Songs played with imagination and improvisation make listening fun. Like Duke Ellington said, “If it sounds good, it is good.”
Casey & Minna are versatile, able to provide music for a mellow background, a festive celebration, or a beautiful ceremony, on stage or strolling, for audiences large and small, young and young at heart.

Years ago, Casey & Minna fell in love, but their love for music goes further back; winding its path through elementary school talent shows, garage bands, stage-hand work and recording studios. They began their musical journey together as a raucous big string band and whittled it down to just the family, often playing unplugged and strolling to meet the needs of venues, audiences, and themselves.
They are featured musicians with an original song in the movie ‘Rudderless’ produced by William H. Macy, and perform regionally at art spaces, festivals, trade shows, senior living homes, pubs, grocery stores, weddings, and private parties.
They are currently searching for the right recording studio(s) for their stock-pile of original material: nostalgic Christmas tunes, a tribute to Minna’s Grandma who ran a junkyard, love ballads, odes to friendship, and ufo sightings.
