Dead In Argentina Biography
"The musical space that Oakland, CA’s Dead In Argentina occupies is a solidly fresh take on timeless punk-inspired rock music.
Songwriting that resonates with stark, angular tension also manages to be compellingly tuneful, well thought out with a focus on melody that's indelible but not cloyingly sweet. It's woven into taut layers of guitar, dirty and raw and assertively delivered without excessive tonal or technical wankery, and the whole thing is underpinned by a no-b.s., steady driving rhythm section. This is a reliable approach for good results.
Songs that broach pressing social issues sit surprisingly comfortably with topics of darker frivolity — the bass player’s combustibility, for example — and bear the stamp of musicians who care enough to not waste anyone’s time (least of all their own) but don’t take themselves so seriously that they can’t have fun while they’re at it.
RIYL Drive Like Jehu, IDLES, Fugazi, Jawbreaker, Slint, cracked ribs, the difference between being grown up and being old." -Max Sidman
