There’s no denying the critical importance of music which connects with everyone across any race or background. The best artists have their hands on the pulse of their generation, and they always connect and deliver with their audience each time they get on stage. Kena is one such artist.

Born Ayanda Tsela, Kena is a music prodigy from Creativity Parlour with a unique style and creativity, based in Matsapha, Swaziland. Kena is a musical prodigy with a unique style and creativity; rhymes in both English and vernec; and proudly represents Kasi Life and Kasi Rap music. Kena's music can be categorized as kasi rap, a subgenre of hip-hop that originates in the hoods of South Africa, especially Soweto, as championed by the likes of Pro, Phonte, Maraza, Red Button, Zakwe, among others. Kena is one of the pioneers of Kasi rap music in Swaziland. Kasi rap is about street-centric storytelling, bravado, and flair (punchlines, metaphors and similes). The beats usually knock hard, and the rhymes are delivered with matching conviction.

Kena started his journey in the industry in 2004 and has only recently released his debut album titled "Tsemba LemaGinsa" which means The Hustler's hope on 11 December on online music outlets and physical CDs hitting CNA shelves in the Autumn of 2018. The album is autobiographical as he tells his story of growing up fatherless and gives shouts to his hood over bass-heavy beats. The strongest trait of Tsemba LemaGinsa is the rapper's vicious delivery–it's convincing, intimidating, and he raps with a clarity that makes the project an easy listen and a must buy.

For Kena though, his talent and passion goes beyond just making great music and rocking shows…It’s about having a positive impact in society and addressing the social issues that affect our communities.
