Night 1: LIVE OVER BEATS IN THE LOUNGE Feat MARQUE GILMORE & DJ LE ROUGE (Performing a minimum of 2 Live Drum FM sets from 9pm) MARQUE GILMORE - Acousti-Lectric Drums Marque Gilmore, born in Cambridge Massachusetts, is critically acclaimed worldwide as a superbly innovative drummer/percussionist, future-music producer/composer and live music performance pioneer. For nearly 25 years Marque has been working globally as a professional musician, producer and cultural arts practitioner with his flagship music & multi-media performance project DRUM-FM- receiving numerous arts grants & special music commissions, working with high-level pop, dance and R&B artists, underground dance & electronic music innovators, classical music virtuosos, African master musicians, Bengali Sufi singers, Indian classical artists, Rock’n’Roll icons and Jazz legends. DJ LE ROUGE 1994, LeRouge met both Cleveland Watkiss and Marque Gilmore tha’ inna•most - “two of the most talented musicians I've ever met” and Project 23 (the UK’s first Live DnB band) was born. In that same time-frame, LeRouge joined Gilmore’s experimental ‘Live Interactive Jungle’ club DRUM-FM, launched earlier that year in NYC after Gilmore’s first trip to London in late 1993. DRUM-FM became the world’s very first Live Jungle/DnB ensemble and on November 16th 1995, fortified it’s frenzied live breakbeat flavours for their UK debut at Straight No Chaser Magazine’s seminal music festival, The Shape Of Things To Come at London’s legendary Bagley’s Warehouse, alongside Palm Skin Productions, Adrian Sherwood and Skip McDonald’s Little Axe. LeRouge became known as the singular DJ that could mix DnB/Jungle records into a live drumming/band scenario…to this day, he is STILL one of the only DJs to have mastered this technique and vibe…DJ LeROUGE is simply one of the most musical DJ’s to have hit the scene - and started a new one at the same time!
