Human Girlfriend is an Indie Rock project formed by George Matsuo and Thomas Paparella, bred out of recordings they made during their Paris study abroad in their respective freshmen years at NYU in 2017 under the name Les Tigres. They expanded their lineup to include drummer Jared Shaw and bassist Ethan Goodstein, the latter being replaced by Thomas Miritello in 2018, and changed their name to Human Girlfriend, which also signified a switch from their homebrew recordings to proper studio production.
