About this concert
Minnie writes dark, plaintive, beautiful music about life, love, adventures and fairy tales. Following slots supporting Joan Armatrading and a stint at Edinburgh fringe, Minnie has been wooing audiences all over the place with tours in Iceland, America, Europe and all over the U.K under her belt. Her debut album received national airplay on BBC radio 2, BBC 6 music and on BBC Radio 1 as Huw Stephen's Introducing artist of the week. "Minnie is quite the wordsmith, knowing not just when to sing, but when to leave phrases hanging to concentrate on the meaning, silence can say so much and Minnie knows how to use it, almost as an instrument to contrast against not only what is being sung, but what is being played" Fatea Magazine Robert is a musician, songwriter, actor, guitar tutor and workshop leader based in the UK. He released Only a Flight Away in April 2018, his third record following his self-titled debut album and his 2016 extended EP Ends and Starts. Minnie Birch Biography

Buzzfeed’s ‘one to watch’
Minnie Birch is based in Hertfordshire (UK) She creates achingly honest and beautiful music about love, loss, life and fairy tales. She has just released her second album 'Tethered'

Minnie has been performing solo since 2011. As a solo artist she has released 1 EP and 2 Albums, her first EP was recorded by award winning producer George Shilling after her song 'Sea Shanty' won her the opportunity to record in his studio. Her first album was well with her single Glitter being made Huw Stephen's introducing track of the week and the album received airplay on BBC Radio 1, Radio 2 and BBC6 music. And won her the Laurel Canyon New Artist Music Award.

She has toured relentlessly with stints all over the U.K, Europe, Iceland and America - including slots at the Edinburgh Fringe and supporting Joan Armatrading
Minnie is currently working as a musician in residence in a male prison, using music to help people develop their confidence, team work ethic and find ways of expressing themselves.
The new album ‘Tethered’ was produced by Lauren Deakin-Davies (NMG producer of the year) and delves further into instrumentation than her debut creating an epic soundscape but maintaining Minnie’s trademark use for space and silence in a song.
The album artwork is just as important a part of the story, working again with her Dad (David Jacques) they’ve created a visual world for Minnie’s songs to live in – the pair have worked on every release together with her Dad painting a picture for every song she has ever written.
Her next recording project is a collaborative works collecting and reworking songs from the football terraces. She is attracted to the ‘folk’ tradition of the way in which the songs from the terraces have changed over time and she hopes to capture some of them in recorded form for future listeners. Alongside these projects she will be touring the new album and releasing singles with B-sides, accompany artwork and videos throughout the year.
She plans on making music for forever and a day
