The Dead Ringers Biography

When you love what you do you’ll never work a day in your life and this is something felt by the lads in The Dead Ringers every time they come together. After haunting the Brisbane scene for many years the band disbanded but the love for performing and the idea never died. This fire grew stronger in the closing months of 2011 and the members found themselves having a great time jamming together and decided it was time to share their creation with the people around them. It was then The Dead Ringers took their current form with no plans for stopping anytime soon. Especially when it’s as fun as this. In the middle of 2012 they were equipped with an arsenal of new material and took themselves to Opus Den studios to record with Ben Thomson (Bad Day Down). Ben has been responsible for exceptional releases in 2012 including, but not limited to, Army of Champions and Paddy McHugh. Armed with the finest equipment money can buy, the finest songs the band have ever written and their desire to put them in a listenable format, Ben Thompson worked tirelessly to refine their music. “Dancin’ Round The Click” is 35 minutes of alternative country, delivered with an obvious rock influence. The Dead Ringers never deny their roots steadfast in country, blues and even punk rock citing their major influences as Social Distortion, Lucero and The Supersuckers and this EP is almost as influenced by these names as it is a tribute to them. The EP perfectly captures the gritty vocals of Justin Smith, the slide guitar of Hayden Bartlett, the sweeping percussion of Scotty Blow which is all held together by the bass lines of “Handsome” Dave Kelsey all delivered with a relaxed sense of story-telling. This story doesn’t end here. With the EP in hand, The Dead Ringers are driven, ready to share their stories with the world and plan to have a great time doing it. The EP is currently available for free download from their Bandcamp page. http://thedeadringers.bandcamp.com/ The Dead Ringers: Alternative country from Brisbane.
