Loopsy Dazy Biography
Loopsy Dazy is a live-looping acoustic-electronic band consisting of Mikey Dorje on acoustic guitar, synths, live electronic beats, and live effects, Eleanor Edgar on violin and live effects and Caribou's Brad Weber on drums. When Loopsy Dazy performs live, there is no use of pre-recorded loops or bed tracks whatsoever. The band plays their instruments which they loop, layer, tweak, trigger and re-trigger in real time to create a symphony of sound that combines elements of both electronic and acoustic music. They have delighted audiences and rocked dance floors in Toronto, New York City, Montreal, Halifax, Newfoundland and beyond, including performances at Evolve Festival, Om Reunion Project, NXNE and other festivals. The band's studio work includes a remix of a song by Austra for a video that was played at the 2014 Juno Awards, an official remix of electronic music pioneer BT, and music for a documentary film “When The Iron Bird Flies”, that received screenings worldwide. Currently, the band is putting the final touches on their debut album, which, true to Loopsy Dazy style was created from hours and hours of live-off-the-floor recordings.
