“I’ve been a music junkie since I was a child,” 100grandroyce explains, “I didn’t play video games or watch a lot of TV, I always listened to the radio, mixshows and wasted hours browsing mixtapes, albums and bootlegs in the hood growing up.” Meanwhile, GrandRoyce’s family was always hosting parties in Harlem and took the music listening experience seriously. 100GrandRoyce was essentially a sponge soaking in everything he heard, his cousin went onto introduce him to all kinds of hip-hop music, “So I used to spend weekends making copies of everything he had to listen to when I got home,” 100GrandRoyce says. The energetic artist admits to getting into fights, hustling and the like growing up and that hip-hop provided the backdrop to Royce’s actual life. The music provided a soundtrack to 100Grand's come up and life in Harlem.

Once 100GrandRoyce grabbed the microphone for himself and started rapping, heads immediately turned and ears were attracted to the sound.
