Lili Alaska Biography

Lili Alaska is a 19 year old Australian and French independent singer, songwriter and producer.

She was born in the French Alps, grew up in New Zealand and Australia before moving to Colorado and traveling across the USA. The Americana scene became a source of inspiration alongside pop and rock music. Lili started singing at open mics at an early age. She found influences in Blondie, Lana Del Rey, Courtney Barnett, Fleetwood Mac, Grimes, Patti Smith, Mazzy Star, Nico, Dolly Parton...

Lili Alaska opened for the So Frenchy So Chic Festival 2022 alongside Mick Harvey, Ali Barter and French rapper Fefe. She has her own sound and an original Art Pop and Avant-Garde identity, using intricate layering of vintage sounds, synths, guitar riffs and vocals which accentuate her meaningful lyrics, often inspired by poetry. Her first EP and singles received a great reception on Triple J Unearthed, FBI, 2SER, Quiet Fire, RTRFM, 3RRR, 4ZZZ, PVFM and many other community radios.

The Australian Independent Record Labels Association selected Lili Alaska for the Women in Music 2020 after she released her single Leaving the Mind Behind featured Single of the Week. She was then mentored by artist Lucy Neville and award winning producer Dean Tuza. Lili Alaska kept working on her songwriting with Lindy Morrison, Brendan Gallagher, Tia Gostelow and Sally Seltmann.

Early 2021, she released L'amour par la fenêtre, a pop-rock ode to Love adapted from French poet Arthur Rimbaud's cult collection Illuminations. She performed the song at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney for Nuit des idees 2021 supported by ABC Radio National. The single became the official song of the French Film Festival Aotearoa 2021 and the trailer was broadcasted nationwide in movie theatres. They renewed their collaboration for the 2022 edition. Lili was selected for the second round of the APRA Professional Development Awards in 2021 and 2022 (Popular Contemporary) and the Talent Development Project in 2021 and 2022.

Lili Alaska performed at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney for Make Music Day 2022 on June 21st and just released new single When The Roots Are Deep with Santino Salvatore.

Music magazine Cool Accidents named Lili Alaska one of the 10 groundbreaking musicians under 21 to watch.
