Mighty Ded Woods Biography
MIGHTY DED WOODS are a high-energy four piece, waving the banner of Detroit-style rock-n-roll high and proud. They bring PURE ROCK LOVE to audiences everywhere by melding the sounds of MC5, Cheap Trick, and Funkadelic. Mighty Ded Woods evoke the sonic history of classic riff-rock, while cutting mean, new grooves for the ears of the future. They have been hailed as one of the most exciting bands in Detroit due to their blistering live shows -- channeling the theater of James Brown and the bombast of Iggy Pop.
Originally formed in 2016 as the “punk rock house band” for the Majestic Theater’s Garden Bowl in Detroit, they started gigging as a guitar and drums tandem, until one day a talented, quirky, Detroit-native, and renegade of the Atlanta music scene, checked them out at a show and climbed aboard their Love Train. Recently the circle became complete with the addition of a powerhouse bundle of super-combustible vocal fire.
Tami “Tp” Stanko brings her funky, gritty bass lines to lock in with The Rev. Stephen “Boom-Boom” Pelloni and his crisp, tight cannon shots. Together, they create the swing and push that make the Ded Woods go ‘round. Add in some Travis R. on Fender guitars, with a little bit of vocalizin’, a little socializin', plus Rizzy Kidd singin' and stompin', and you’ve got Mighty Ded Woods!
