49th Parallel

Our musical journey started long before any of us thought about making music seriously. We are five friends who had been hanging out for nearly as long as we could remember. We loved messing around with microphones and music software, simply creating music for the fun of it. At a certain point, we realized the music that came from our joy of creating had real potential, so we moved to Finnegan’s studio on Lopez Island for a week during summer 2018.

49th Parallel is the latitude line which separates the United States from Canada, and also crosses right through the tip of Lopez Island. To us, the 49th Parallel represents the culmination of our passion for making music, countless hours of hard work, and most importantly our friendship, which ultimately led to the creation of our debut eponymous album.

Through our music we hope to convey ourselves honestly. Our friendships, our enemies, our flaws, our emotions or lack thereof, our hopes, dreams, hates, and loves. Over the past year, we have shared our passion with thousands of people. From hearing our music sung back to us at a sold out show with Dave B. and Yes Theory to listening to our music on Seattle's iconic KEXP radio for the first time, bringing joy to people motivates us to continue honing our craft.

Ultimately, our mission is to create great music and share our passion with you, because for us, combining all of these things is what makes great music. So come join us for the ride and let's have some fun.
