Anita Hegerland

International pop/rock singer.
Born in Sandefjord, Norway
3rd March 1961. Famous for her huge success in Europe as a child star 1969 -76, and for her very successful collaboration with English musician and composer Mike Oldfield as lead vocalist in 1985 - 91 worldwide, together with vocalists like Maggie Reilly, Barry Palmer, Bonnie Tyler, Chris Thompson, Kevin Ayers, Adrian Belew and Nikki Lamborn.

Anita Hegerlands music career is both historic and unique in Norway and Scandinavia.

Her voice has been sold on more than 30 million albums world wide.

In 1971 and for several years Anita Hegerland was the most selling and most successful female child star in the world in very exclusive company with superstar Michael Jackson. They both sold two million copies of their biggest selling hits in 1971. Jackson in USA with his solo debut single "Gotta Be There" and Hegerland in Germany together with Roy Black and the song "Schön ist es auf der Welt zu sein".

Anita Hegerland was the first Norwegian singer in history to reach the "One Million Sold Copies" mark, so she was Norways first "Millionselgendeartist". This was a sensation back in 1971, because no other Norwegian artists had been close to record sales like that of one song.

Anita Hegerland was the first Norwegian singer to perform in Germany´s biggest tv-show in the 70s called "Starparade" with 28 million weekly viewers. Anita performed there in 1971 and 1972.

Anita Hegerland is still the youngest singer in history to top the prestigious Swedish music chart "Svensktoppen"! That happened in 1970 with the song "Mitt Sommarlov", now an evergreen in Sweden and played regularly on the radio, and still one of the most popular summer songs ever in Scandinavia.

Together with Mike Oldfield Anita performed in many of the biggest tv-shows in Europe in the 80s out to millions of tv-viewers in the big halls, and she shared stages with stars like Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Janet Jackson, Cher, Kate Bush, Natalie Cole, Bryan Adams, Phil Collins, Scorpions, Roxette, Chris de Burgh, Frankie goes to Hollywood, Pet Shop Boys and many more.

Anita Hegerland has performed for several Royal Families in Europe and as only Norwegian she has received the prestigious "Der Goldene Löwe" trophe in music from RTL when she was the most popular and most selling artist of the year together with German singer Roy Black in 1971.

Anita Hegerland was also voted "The Most popular Female Artist of the Year" in Germany in 1973 by the readers of "Stern" magazine and in 1983 in Norway.

She has 28 platinum/diamond/gold and silver disc awards for her record sales world wide.

In 2016 Anita Hegerland is more popular than ever doing more than 150 concerts in her home country Norway, and performing in big tv-shows in Germany, Finland and Norway!
