Sun Voyager Biography
Hailing from the mountains of New York's Hudson Valley region, Sun Voyager, currently based in New York City, found their sound in a frigid shed during some long winters. You could call it psychedelic, you could call it stoner, and you can find traces of desert, doom, and anything in between.
The Obelisk recently called it "cosmic grunge." Recyclable Sounds calls it "traditionalist post-Hawkwind moto-space rock." Give whatever name you want to their sound, they've never played by any rules.
In the year prior to releasing their debut album, Seismic Vibes, they performed at Meltasia, Indian Summer, SX Stoner Jam, Stoner Daze, SXSW, Desert Daze SXSW Showcase, and embarked on two US tours. In the year that followed, they went on another run to Texas, supported heavy psych juggernauts Ruby the Hatchet and The Well, Division Brewing released a Sun Voyager Double IPA, and they solidified a spot on the inaugural Desertfest NYC. "If you’re a connoisseur of the latest in fuzzed-out heavy music, Sun Voyager are a band that should have a place on your radar." - Decibel Magazine
