The Urban Campfire is an immersive participatory concert that blurs the lines between artist and audience. Sing and play along with renowned guitarists and singer-songwriters as they take the stage to share the songs and stories that shaped them. No guitar? No problem - bring yourself, and sing along or just enjoy the hang. Mark Stewart, Guitar Mash artistic director and Paul Simon’s long-time music director, leads the audience around this "campfire" with a line-up of featured guest artists: John Sebastian Amythyst Kiah Dion Sammy Brue Tash Neal With Guitar Mash Alums Jimmy Vivino and Scott Sharrard. Other teen offerings include flash mobs and a monthly Teen Songwriter Circle. More unique participatory events in and outside of New York are in development, including a Queens Urban Campfire in 2020 with support from the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment.
