The Long Johns are hitchin’ up the wagons and hittin’ the road with a national tour "Hankering for Destruction" traversing three states including VIC, NSW and QLD from the lat October through to mid December. You can catch them at The Bearded Lady in Brisbane Saturday December 7th with Open Season and CC The Cat (solo)!Following the Brisbane based acts debut at Woodford Folk Festival in 2016, 2018 has seen the group hot on the festival circuit while also receiving nomination for a Queensland Music award and their latest single “Hound Dog” added to ABC rotation, making 2018 a clover year. The Longjohns are the twang of the banjo, the rumble of the sousaphone and the ring of the spittoon. The creak of the door, the crow of the rooster, the stomping of floorboards and the hammering of the chain gang.
A four piece possé, The Longjohns come together to play spooky country with that old timey swing to deliver songs of hope, loss and hauntings.
Featuring a line up of banjos, sousaphone, national guitar and the pots and pans, The Longjohns are Sian Evans, Steve Buchanan, Skritch and Paul Watson preparing a tincture of dark country and barnyard bangers.
