Exploding onto the international music scene in early 2015 with the acclaimed singles Live Rock 'n' Roll and White Trash, JOANovARC's status as the new 'queens of rock' is about to rise even higher with their debut album, Ride Of Your Life. Released on 9th November through Red Vixen Records/Universal, available through HMV stores UK and outlets around the world. The album was recorded at the legendary Rockfield studios and produced by Grammy winning producer Gil Norton (Foo Fighters). It brings together new songs with a number of the band's live favourites, including the latest single Dragon In The Sky. Formed in 2004 by sisters Sam and Shelley Walker, Deborah Wildish joined later the same year. After five years as a trio, Laura Ozholl completed the line-up in 2009, helping JOANovARC to quickly solidify its reputation for exceptional musicianship, songwriting and unrelenting hard work. The band is already becoming a global phenomenon, with electrifying performances on tour in Europe, the USA, Japan, Asia, the Middle East and the Caribbean. The band's singles have been playlisted by radio stations Planet Rock (including by the legendary Alice Cooper) and Total Rock, gaining rave reviews from the international rock music press, including Classic Rock and Kerrang! Their electrifying live shows, outstanding reviews and a rapidly growing fan base have seen producer Gil Norton dub them 'the new queens of rock', recognising their status as a truly powerful example of women in music The venues and festivals played by the band are almost too numerous to mention. In 2016 these have included the Camden Rock festival, Harley Davidson Thunder in the Glens festival, the Liverpool Empire, many iconic London venues and with performances at Hard Rock Hell and Planet Rockstock still to look forward to in November and December, supporting major international rock acts. JOANovARC have performed at many major events, including biker festivals in Austria, France, Croatia, Italy, Slovakia and the UK; a wide range of UK festivals and have even found time to feature at the five star-rated One Night Of Rock theatre shows in the UK. The list of 'name' artists that the band has supported is similarly impressive, including Adam Ant, Bad Company, Beth Hart, Bonnie Tyler, Deborah Bonham, Eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster, Girlschool, Marillion, Never the Bride, Sarah Smith (Canada), Slade, Tenors of Rock, Toploader and Toto. They have recently worked with Adam Barron (The Voice) and were invited to play at the wedding of Bad Company's Dave Colwell. In 2014 they recorded Wild One with John Altman (aka EastEnders' Nick Cotton), a Christmas cover of the song made famous by Iggy Pop. JOANovARC are endorsed and sponsored by Black Star amplification, Caz drums, Colin Leslie eyewear, Dean Markley strings and Gibson guitars. Two of their songs feature on the Xbox 360 game Rock Band. TV & Film The band toured Europe in 2015 with the concept of it being 1986 unable to use mobile phones, WiFi, laptops or personal electronics as a social experiment to show how dependent people now are on technology. The tour was recorded for a TV documentary, scheduled to be broadcast in 2017. The girls have also featured in the Chinese blockbuster Triumph in the Skies, which starred Sammi Cheng one of the most popular female singers in Hong Kong. Released in February 2015, the film earned US$25m in China and HK$21.5m in Hong Kong. They have also just finished filming Is This Now, an independent film directed by the award-winning Joe Scott, due to be released in 2017.
