Beginning as street performers the 10 piece band from Sydney Australia are passionate about re-igniting organic performance and acoustic instrumentation, breaking down the barriers between stage and audience, and composing engaging original music that makes people want to dance. Bridging Ska, Reggae, Funk & Pop, they are sure to leave a lasting impression.It has been 5 years, however this October, they return to the very first venue they ever performed in, The Brass Monkey Cronulla, one night only.

Hot Potato Band Biography
Hot Potato Band’s larger-than-life brass collective is a breath of fresh air, setting a new bar for energetic and interactive musical performances. Finding home in Sydney, Australia, their positive coastal energy pushes euphoric boundaries in their bold quest to reignite acoustic instrumentation. The bands unique sound is built on the backs of three drummers, a sousaphone and five horns that cover catchy chorus lines, providing a beautiful harmonic cloud for Ben (vocalist) to float above. HPB is un-bound by genres, stages and audiences. They are re-inventive of the traditional New Orleans brass band as a modern day dance machine and visual spectacle for all demographics with a strong sense of pride for their fun-loving, organic, and quirky musical nature.
They are incredibly proud of their all acoustic line up. An energetic amalgamation of catchy music, lyrics, infectious dance moves, interaction and the breaking down of barriers between stage and audience is what sets Hot Potato Band apart. Although difficult to describe their genre, HPB continues to compile their arsenal of songs inspired by Pop, Funk, Ska and Reggae, binding them by the classic instrumentation of New Orleans brass bands.
