About this concert
While Seth Sentry would probably be offended by the choice of words that his music has'matured', it is meant as a compliment. His latest single, the moody and vividly detailed Wrong One, marks a new point in his career that is a noticeable level-up. Morecontrolled and crafted, thesong smacks of experience without losing the irreverent charm that made people fall in love with him to begin with. So maybe matured isn't quite the word, but as time goes on Seth Sentry sure-footedly climbs closer to the apex of being a legit grandmaster of his craft. Each of Seth Sentry's album's have been marked by progression–both musically and in terms ofhis career. His debut album This Was Tomorrow was an instant classic, sending him on an impossible tear that manifested in a gold record, an ARIA nomination, Channel [V] Artist Of TheYear and a dream-come-true appearance onJimmy Kimmel Live. He earned a legion of fans worldwide, cementing himself not just as one of the decade's most exciting new artists, but as ajaw-dropping live performer.Snowballing this momentum, Seth's second albumStrange New Pastwas a monumental stepforward that brought its own rewards. Defined by its honesty and introspection, Strange New Pastdebuted at #2 on the ARIA charts, was a Triple JFeature Album, won both an ARIA Award and anAIR Award, and spawned a staggering four Triple J high rotation singles in Run, Hell Boy, Dumband1969. It wasan insane run, supported by endless miles of touring and spawning millions of streamsand views. Now one of Australia's most iconic rappers, Seth Sentry is still at the top of his game and yet topeak. With elements of psychedelic rock and bluesy guitar, Wrong One’s layers run deep, bothmusically and lyrically. With production by friend and long-time collaborator Styalz Fuego, as wellas multi-instrumentalist Carl Dimitaga, Wrong Onecombines crispy clean modern rap tones withthe classic sounds of '70s rock. Dig deeper, and Seth's filmic imagination once again permeates hissongwriting, adding a lyrical scope toWrong Onethat conjures images of characters that fallsomewhere between Leone's Man With No Name and Boba Fett.Letting his creativity run wild, Seth has has crafted a cinematic story with hidden meanings andEaster eggs buried throughout his trademark punchlines and hooks. “When I write I usually have alittle movie playing in my head,” Seth explains. “This movie takes place in the moments before thefinal stand. The last shootout. There’s a price on my head, and every bounty hunter in thecountryis here to collect it. Surrounded by dirty lawmen with shiny gold stars–high horses and low morals–I’m not going out without a fight. Besides, what kind of man would put a bounty on his ownhead?”A trickle before the torrent, Wrong Oneis thefirst taste of Seth's forth coming third album (due late2019) and his first single since 2016’s Play It Safe. A song that will grab you on the first listen thenstay with you for days,Wrong Oneis a landmark release that forges new ground–not just forSethbut for hip hop in general. Bold, creative and ambitious, Wrong Oneis a thrilling glimpse into theepic album to come, and one that bears a clear, unmistakable message: Seth Sentry is back!

The event was very cramped and sweaty.. However, Seth and the starting band were awesome. If I had to go to this spot again for Seth or someone similar I would

Seth Sentry Biography

When Seth Sentry's first album, This Was Tomorrow, debuted at #6 on the ARIA charts, Seth was a bright young hopeful... a talented up-and-comer. Now, only a few years down the track, Seth is regarded as one of Australia's premier rappers, with an iconic voice as warm and familiar as a hug from an old mate. This Was Tomorrow spawned three high-rotation singles - My Scene, Float Away and Dear Science - which opened the door for touring at home and overseas. Seth became an Australian festival circuit staple, and got his first taste of international success in North America – hitting NYC and Canada for the first time, winning a rap battle at SXSW, and performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live to two million people; spitting rhymes and dodging f-bombs like a consummate professional. Taking out Channel [V]’s Oz Artist Of The Year Award and earning a spot on triple j's One Night Stand; Seth Sentry had truly arrived. But, to put the question bluntly, what's he done lately? Well, besides touring and touring and touring, Seth's been writing and recording his next album, and, much to the delight of fans, the first taste is ready. Characteristically nostalgic, poignant and humorous; first single Run is Seth at his best, expanding on his established knack for nimble rapping and big, boss hooks. Part way between the contemplative Float Away and the brash Dear Science, Run confidently navigates the waters between 'catchy song' and something more profound, as Seth explores his childhood as a bored kid in a small town, making fun however ya can. Longing for a forgotten sense of danger and excitement, Seth looks back fondly at his days of shoplifting chocolates, skating ledges and sifting weed flakes out of bong water. Days when, if the cops chased you, you'd just run. A humble guy from humble beginnings, it's Seth Sentry's honesty that seems to win him his way into people's hearts, and, like a time machine back to those humble beginnings, Run gives us a glimpse at one of Australia's most successful rappers, back when he was still just a little kid telling you to shut up.
